Yes, we are two of those! We eat no meat, fish of poultry, well that is not quite true we do eat eggs and limited dairy products, though we really do prefer soy milk to cow's milk. The fact is we have found we eat a much more varied diet now then when we were carnivores. We try to create our own recipes using as much variety as we can find. One of our favorites is a Sausage recipe the basis of which we got from a friend. It is easy to adjust the spices until you find your own choice of heat and flavor. It makes a great sandwich though we usually have it with breakfast. In the Scrapple recipe you will find Nutritional Yeast. This is not baking yeast, it consist of lovely golden flakes and is quit healthy. They are an excellent source of protein and are rich in B-complex vitamins along with amino acids. They are available at most health food stores or whole food groceries. We make a Nutritional Yeast Mix that is excellent on tofu, in soups, gravies or dips. |
